Chipped, discoloured, missing or misplaced, improperly aligned teeth may make you feel conscious and affect your self-confidence. You may try to hide your teeth while smiling or tend not to smile in the photos. Teeth may also have discoloured due to past traumatic injury and underlying disease that may later lead to acute dental infections, thus affecting overall oral health. Speak to our dentists for effective solutions to manage and improve the health and appearance of your teeth.
Cosmetic dentistry can significantly improve your smile by employing various ways to change the appearance of asymmetrical, chipped, crooked, discolored, and missing or misplaced teeth.
There may be a combination of treatments required to achieve desirable effects. Bonding, composite fillings, internal teeth whitening, external whitening, direct composite veneers, indirect porcelain veneers, dental crown and bridge, and orthodontic corrections are some of the ways the teeth' appearance can be corrected.

Enhance Your Look with our Cosmetic Procedures

Bonding

Direct bonding with tooth-coloured composite material. The dentist will carefully choose the shade of the composite material that matches your teeth and use it to bond to the existing tooth structure to either restore the tooth to its original shape or change it to match the rest of the dentition. When done carefully and polished well, it can significantly improve the appearance of teeth.

Composite fillings

Any decay and cavities in the front teeth can cause significant discolouration and loss of tooth structure, leading to an unsightly appearance. The dentist will carefully clean out the discoloured portion of the tooth and restore the shape and size of the tooth to its original dimensions using the composite shade that matches the colour of the rest of the teeth.

Internal tooth whitening

Internal teeth whitening is done to improve the colour of the root-treated teeth. Root-treated teeth change their colour over a period of time. Since the colour change is due to internal changes in the tooth during root canal therapy, external whitening may not impact restoring the colour to the original. The procedure for whitening such a tooth involves isolating and protecting the old root filling by sealing it away and packing the visible portion of the tooth with a recommended concentration of bleaching agent, which stays in for a week. It may have to be changed a few times until it gradually changes colour to match the rest of the teeth. Your dentist may also suggest combining methods, such as composite veneer or porcelain veneer, to get more permanent results after internal tooth whitening.

External teeth whitening

This is usually done for a group of teeth, most commonly done to get a brighter smile by whitening your front teeth. Philips Zoom whitening is the most commonly used procedure. Although the whitening procedure will surely lighten the teeth' color, the final results can vary. In some patients, we can get a really big difference, but in others, although there will be a noticeable difference, it may be to a lesser degree. External whitening can also be done at home with special trays we can mold for you after taking impressions of your teeth. A stronger whitening agent can be applied with the dentist-made trays compared to the trays you can purchase over the counter, as the quantity of the whitening agent required with the specially molded trays is much smaller.

Composite veneers

Are thin shells of tooth-coloured material that are directly bonded to the tooth to change colour, and appearance, and even mild to moderate alignment problems. We use the Uveneers system to bond the composite veneers for superior finish and longevity.

Porcelain veneers

Are custom-made and bonded to the tooth surface using a specific technique. Porcelain veneers are more durable and stain-resistant than direct composite veneers. They are made in thin shells to achieve desirable aesthetic results. See the difference between composite and porcelain veneers.
